RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WGNS) - The Rutherford County Election Commission has released sample ballots for the November 3rd State and Federal General Election, alongside municipal elections in Smyrna, La Vergne, and Eagleville.
Voters seeking detailed election information, sample ballots, and early voting resources can access tools through the official Rutherford County Election Commission portal or visit the state's GoVoteTN Services Portal.
In local municipal contests, Smyrna voters will select a mayor and three council members. Incumbent Mayor Mary Esther Reed faces independent candidate Joanne Delk. For Smyrna Town Council, voters will select three representatives from a field containing incumbents Marc Adkins and H.G. Cole alongside challengers Matt Ford and Vanessa Haley. In La Vergne, incumbent Mayor Jason Cole faces independent challenger James S. Miles, while Carol Haas and Kara Hobbs compete for two Alderman seats. In Eagleville, incumbent Mayor Chad Leeman is running unopposed, with candidates Craig Campbell, Brandon S. Emamalie, and Shawn Futrell seeking three council seats.
On the state legislative ticket, incumbent Republican Dawn White faces Democrat Angela Evans Wynn for State Senate District 13. In the Tennessee House of Representatives, incumbent Republicans face Democratic challengers in local districts: District 13 features incumbent Robert Stevens against Brett Windrow; District 34 features incumbent Tim Rudd against Owen Farnsworth; District 37 features incumbent Charlie Baum against Mary Ann Young; District 48 features incumbent Bryan Terry against Matt Ferry; and District 49 features incumbent Mike Sparks against Connie Casha.
For Tennessee governor, Republican nominee Marsha Blackburn faces Democratic nominee Jerri Green and several independent candidates. In the U.S. Senate race, Republican incumbent Bill Hagerty faces Democratic nominee Marquita Bradshaw and independent challengers. In the U.S. House of Representatives, District 4 incumbent Republican Scott DesJarlais faces Democratic nominee Victoria Broderick and independent candidates, while District 9 features Republican Brent Taylor, Democrat Justin J. Pearson, and independent candidates.
Three proposed Tennessee Constitutional Amendments are also on the ballot. Amendment #1 addresses pre-trial bail requirements for specific severe offenses. Amendment #2 would prohibit state property taxes. Amendment #3 relates to crime victims' rights.
