LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WGNS) - La Vergne Fire Rescue Department (LVFRD) firefighters extinguished a blaze Monday evening at Palm Commodities, a hazardous materials facility located at 1289 Bridgestone Parkway. Responders arrived quickly on scene, brought the fire under control within 15 minutes, and confirmed there is no threat to surrounding Rutherford County communities.

An automatic fire alarm notified emergency crews at approximately 6:40 p.m. Responding units arrived within about three minutes and spotted flames coming through a roll-up door of the unoccupied building. Incident commander and LVFRD Chief Ronny Beasley reported that crews contained the fire rapidly and verified that no hazardous materials pose a risk to the general public. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Approximately 30 personnel responded to the scene to assist in containment and support. The response included LVFRD command staff alongside mutual aid from the Smyrna Fire Department (SFD), Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS), and Box 55. Operations involved four fire engines, two ladder trucks—including one provided by SFD—and an additional truck. SFD also dispatched an extra fire company to cover La Vergne territory while primary units remained on scene.

Bridgestone Parkway was temporarily closed to traffic while emergency crews completed operations. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
