PODCAST: Get ready for a lifesaving rivalry! Dr. Gloria Bonner (Photo Above and Below), MTSU's emeritus dean of education, reflects on her distinguished career in education, which began under the leadership of Dr. Baxter Hobgood. One of her earliest teaching assignments was at Mitchell-Neilson Elementary School, where she taught fifth grade under Principal Dr. Bob Crowder. It remains a school she remembers fondly.

Dr. Bonner retired from Middle Tennessee State University in 2017 after spending 44 years in education, including 32 years serving in academic and administrative roles at MTSU.

Today, Dr. Bonner previews the annual "Bleed Blue" blood drive competition between MTSU and Conference USA rival Western Kentucky University. Scheduled for November 2–4 at the MTSU Campus Recreation Center, the friendly competition aims to collect hundreds of units of lifesaving blood ahead of the November 7 football showdown at Floyd Stadium.

Tune in to learn how you can help MTSU secure another victory while making a difference in the lives of others. Donors can also enjoy special incentives, including free football tickets, a T-shirt, pizza, and a $10 Amazon eGift card.
