PODCAST - On this episode of the WGNS RoundTable, host Chip Walters sat down with Rutherford County Administrator of Elections Alan Farley and MTSU Political Science Professor Kent Syler to discuss the upcoming midterm elections and early voting turnout. The panel analyzed the state's open gubernatorial race, the performance of independent candidate David Hatley, and the potential impact of recent redistricting on voter participation. Farley provided updates on Rutherford County's early voting numbers, noting they are tracking ahead of 2022, and encouraged residents to review their ballots before heading to the polls to reduce wait times. Syler offered historical context on election standardization across the United States, state-level voting rights, and the significance of the three constitutional amendments appearing at the bottom of this year's Tennessee ballot.
