MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Middle Tennessee football returns to Floyd Stadium this coming Wednesday night (10/28/2026) with a 6:00PM kickoff. This pivotal Conference USA matchup with Kennesaw State promises to be about much more than football. The Blue Raiders enter the contest with a 4-3 overall record, a 2-1 mark in conference play and a perfect 3-0 record at home this season. Middle Tennessee is looking to strengthen its position in the conference standings while protecting its unbeaten record at Floyd Stadium.

Standing in the way is Kennesaw State, a team whose 1-6 record doesn't tell the whole story. The Owls opened the season with a dominating 47-0 victory over West Georgia and have since endured a difficult schedule. Several losses have been heartbreakers, including a one-point defeat to Jacksonville State and a three-point loss to Missouri State. Despite an 0-3 conference record, the Owls have proven capable of keeping games close.

On paper, MTSU appears to have the edge. Sports projections give the Blue Raiders roughly a 58 percent chance of victory, although other forecasts view the matchup as nearly even.

There isn't a longstanding rivalry between the programs. Kennesaw State is still relatively new to Conference USA, and the teams have met only twice, splitting those contests. The Owls claimed a 24-16 victory last season, while the Blue Raiders won 14-5 in 2024.

That's one reason this game is expected to be anything but a sleepy midweek matchup. MTSU needs a win to keep pace in the conference race, while Kennesaw State is desperate to snap a six-game losing streak and earn its first conference victory. Expect a hard-fought game under the lights at Floyd Stadium.

Trick or Treat

With Halloween just around the corner, MTSU is transforming Floyd Stadium into a festive destination for fans of all ages. Children 12 and under who arrive in costume can receive free admission by stopping at the ticket office on game day. Trick-or-treating will return to the upper concourse beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing through the end of the first quarter, with Blue Raider athletic teams, campus organizations and sponsors handing out candy.

Fans can also take part in costume and poster contests, with prizes available for some of the evening's most creative entries.

Winning Wednesday

Fans attending the game can also enjoy MTSU's "Winning Wednesday" promotion featuring Halloween activities, trick-or-treating, costume contests, a community food drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, student giveaways, a chance to win a $2,500 Blue Zoo Scholarship, and popular $2 concessions.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Floyd Stadium.
