Murfreesboro Police spokesperson Larry Flowers told WGNS NewsRadio that the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services to Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment.

Because of the severity of the crash, the Murfreesboro Police Department's Fatal Accident Crash Team, commonly known as FACT, responded to investigate. Local statistics mirror those concerns. Reports tracking pedestrian crashes in Murfreesboro and Rutherford County show a noticeable increase in such incidents over the past decade. Recent figures indicate that 40 pedestrians were struck by vehicles in a single year across the area.

As the investigation continues, authorities have not released additional information about the pedestrian's condition or the circumstances leading up to the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact Murfreesboro Police by phoning (615) 893-1311. .
