Aug 20, 2013 at 06:00 am by Bryan Barrett

Scams involving Murfreesboro Electric Department customers continue. On August 15th, a local man reported that he received a phone call from a subject claiming to be “Kevin Rogers.” The Rogers subject told the victim that he owed over $400 on his electric bill and needed to pay it over the phone. The victim hung up and called the electric department where he was informed that no one at the department had a last name of Rogers who was attempting to collect debt.

The victim notified the police and officers now have the complaint on file. No arrests have been made.
