Name of Smyrna Woman Who Died While Rafting on the Ocoee River Released

Aug 27, 2013 at 06:28 am by Bryan Barrett

The names of the two women who died on the Ocoee River this past weekend have been released. We are told that 36-year old Katherine Tyler Luna from Smyrna died while rafting with family on Sunday. The day prior, a woman from Georgia died on the river. Her name was Marnita McGruder. She was 52-years of age.

The TVA regulates the water flow on the river. They say the water flow was measured at about 2,300-2,600 cubic feet per second on Saturday and Sunday. This measure means that one cubic foot of water passes a single point of measurement each second.
