Deposit Bag Containing Up To $50,000 in Cash and Checks STOLEN from Downtown Murfreesboro Business

The Music Stop on West Main Street was the victim of a sizeable theft on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred right at lunch time. One of the workers in the store said that he observed a man enter the retail shop, grab two bank deposit bags and flee the area on foot. The worker tried to track the thief down, but lost track of him near the intersection of West Main and Walnut Street.

The police report property description showed that the deposit bags apparently contained about $50,000 in cash and checks. So far, no arrests have been made. Detective Templeton has been assigned to the case.
