Citizens will save time by obtaining copies of crash and crime reports online rather than picking up the reports at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, said Sheriff Robert Arnold.
“Obtaining reports online is one service we wanted to implement for citizens,” Sheriff Arnold said. “The service is free.”
People who need a copy of a crime or arrest report should email the request to records@rcsotn.org and include the case number and the deputy who took the report, said Sheriff Arnold. The report should be emailed within three days.
Reporting agency coordinator Heather Rowland said crash reports are first sent to the Tennessee Department of Safety so these reports may take seven to 10 days. Drivers who need a copy of the crash report should use the records@rcsotn.org email and include the case number and location of where the crash occurred.
