You hear so many positive stories on WGNS about how great it is here. The caring spirit of the community popped-up again at Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue. For travelers passing the main firehall on the corner of Spring and Vine Streets, there is one thing that stands out when you see the firefighters. They're wearing PINK!

It was such a strong statement that this reporter stopped to ask about visually PINK statement. The basic response was, "We've been doing this at least two-years, and any encouragement and help we can give to help cancer patients and encourage research is important!"

Since it may be difficult to read the message on the firefighter's shirts, it says: "Together...we can find a cure!"

This was not some long thought out statement from a PR firm in New York, but an honest answer from an emergency responder who dedicates his life to helping others.  And yes, another reason this is The Heart of Tennessee.
