Perhaps it’s a sign of the times… at least one local resident has been accused of renting an HD TV and then pawning it at a local pawn shop in Murfreesboro. The suspect evidently rented the 55” TV valued at over $2,300 and later pawned it at the pawn shop, which of course was illegal to do because it was not his TV set.

A police report shows that the rental company on Broad Street caught wind of the scheme because the man’s girlfriend brought the rental store the “pawn” receipt from the pawn shop.

The suspect will now have to pay back the pawn shop and the pawn shop will have to give up the merchandise. No arrests have been made.
