Just barely over the Rutherford County line in the quiet community of Arrington, an elderly man is accused of shooting his wife and later turning the gun on himself Saturday night. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene over the weekend on Bunker Hill Court.

Both the husband and wife are said to have survived the shooting. The wife of the suspect said the two had an argument before the incident occurred. When the husband is released from the care of medical staff, he is expected to be charged with aggravated domestic assault.

Reports indicate the man may be suffering from dementia.
