Room In The Inn, the overnight homeless shelter at 640 West Main Street, will be offering a Thanksgiving meal.
Director Christine Huddleston told WGNS News, "Anyone who needs a meal, we'll be serving lunch at 11:30."
Room In The Inn is a labor of love for everyone involved. People are surprised to learn that the only paid worker is the night manager. Even 29 year Director Huddleston is a volunteer. This 80-year old has a "heart of gold", and has helped so many over the years.
United Way, over 70 area churches, civic groups, and businesses like General Mills and the Murfreesboro Medical Clinic keep Room In The Inn alive.
Huddleston noted, "If you want to make a donation and know it's going toward helping, Room In The Inn is that." She explained that your gifts purchase toilet tissues, feminine items, baby needs and other necessessities.
The City of Murfreesboro provides the building, and the community does the rest.
