The used oil is then converted into biofuel, a renewable energy source.

The county convenience centers that are participating are:
Weakley Lane Convenience Center- 125 Weakley Lane, Smyrna
Walter Hill Convenience Center- 870 East Jefferson Pike, Murfreesboro

Rock Crusher Convenience Center- 3827 Shelbyville Highway, Murfreesboro

The centers are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The centers are closed Monday and Thursday. The centers will have a modified schedule for the holidays which is as follows: closed December 23 – 25 and January 1st.

Please take care when disposing of the used oil to not spill and create a hazard or unsanitary conditions for center attendants or other citizens.

Rutherford County is pleased to offer this convenient option for citizens to dispose of this nuisance waste, and also turn this waste into a usable product.
