Stealing a gun from the government is a bad idea… Regardless, it happened in Murfreesboro.

Someone stole a Colt Defense M4 Carbine Rifle from the Tennessee Army National Guard Armory on Armory Drive in Murfreesboro. The theft was reported to local authorities on Tuesday by Sgt. First Class Coffman.

The 6-pound, 3-ounce rifle has been manufactured by Colt Defense since 1994. The gun is currently being used by U.S. Troops in Afghanistan. The gun fires a .223 caliber round.

It was noticed that the weapon was missing during an inventory. According to the report, there are no known suspects at this time.
