A man staying at a South Church Street hotel called the police after he claims to have been robbed in a hotel room. The victim stated, “He was asleep in his hotel room when an unknown subject entered his room. He stated that the subject pepper sprayed him and the pair fought for several minutes until he was able to rip the victim’s wallet out of his back pocket.” Police were able to take possession of the pepper spray that was left behind in the hotel room, but at this point the thief has not been caught.

The victim was transported from the Knights Inn to the hospital with possible fractures to his face early Sunday morning. The injuries were not life threatening.
