Rutherford County Residents: Don't Trash Your Tree!

Dec 25, 2013 at 02:11 pm by bryan

Don't put your cut Christmas tree in the landfill, recycle it into mulch. The trees must be cleared of all ornaments, tinsel, garland, and lights prior to being dropped off. Tree recycle begins December 26th and continues through early January, 2014. Phone the drop-off locations for exact end dates.

All of the mulch is taken to 4765 Florence Road, where the city of Murfreesboro gives mulch away at no charge.

Murfreesboro residents can leave their "cleared tree" at the curb on garbage pickup day or take it to a drop-off point. Residents of Smyrna and LaVergne must take their Christmas trees to a designated drop-off location.
