An expansion of the 2009 Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act was introduced Wednesday by Senator Mae Beavers (SB1607). The bill summary states...
"As introduced, expands and amends the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act to limit federal actions in this state; creates an offense to knowingly enforce or attempt to enforce any federal enactment or enforcement action punishable as a Class A misdemeanor or Class C felony for subsequent offenses; revises other provisions related to violations and liabilities."
The 2014 Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act legislation declares that the States expressly prohibits the federal government from having any regulatory authority over firearms in Tennessee based on the 2nd and 10th Amendments in the Bill of Rights.
The Tennessee Firearms Association worked closely with Senator Beavers, 10th Amendment specialists and constitutional law experts in crafting this legislation. A House sponsor will be announced in coming days.
