Murfreesboro native, Rick LaLance, announced that he is a candidate for the Murfreesboro City Council. He is a senior vice president and investment adviser for Pinnacle Financial Partners.
In a press release he noted, "The biggest issue that I'm most excited about is the city-wide comprehensive plan that will provide a long-term, strategic vision to ensure and improve our quality of life."
The last City comprehensive plan was approved in 1989.
LaLance commented, "The next Council will truly help shape the future of Murfreesboro. Voters want someone who is going to listen to all sides and make smart, reasonable decisions. I would like the opportunity to serve and influence those decisions that will impact our community for years to come."
LaLance is a Murfreesboro native and began his career at a Nashville brokerage firm 17 years ago. He has been with Pinnacle Financial Partners for the past 13 years and currently manages over $100 million for his clients.
LaLance said. "I understand how numbers work. Minimal debt is sometimes a necessary tool for a city that is experiencing growth like ours, but I believe you take on as little debt as you can, structure it correctly, and pay it back as quickly as possible."
LaLance is a product of local schools. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middle Tennessee State University and attended Oakland High School, Central Middle School and Campus School.
