A man who allegedly threatened to kill the staff at the local jail after being arrested on “Public Intoxication Charges” had four counts of “Retaliation for a Past Action” logged against him this past weekend in Murfreesboro.

Police initially responded to South Bilbro Avenue to an unwanted guest call. Once on the scene, officers found 33-year old Kawone Marquise Henderson who was allegedly banging on the door of the home in question. A police arrest report shows that authorities believed that Henderson was intoxicated. As a result, Henderson was placed in handcuffs and transported to the local jail located at 940 New Salem Highway.

The officer who made the initial contact with Henderson wrote in his report, “After arriving in booking (at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office), Mr. Henderson became combative with jail staff.” The report, filed by M-P-D Officer Thomas, stated, “Mr. Henderson became irate and stated that he had a gun concealed in the cast on his right foot.” The description then outlines an obscene threat suggesting that he would kill the four deputies he had contact with at the Sheriff’s Office.

Henderson then received a ride in an ambulance to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he was X-rayed so that police could determine if he really had a gun concealed in his cast. The X-ray showed that no weapon was in the cast. He was then asked to consent to a urine sample, needless to say, that didn’t happen.

He was medically cleared at the hospital and transported back to jail where he was finally placed in a jail cell for the night. His bond was set at $50,250.00. His court date was set for this May. At this point, he has not made bond and is still behind bars.
