Investigation by the Nashville Police Fraud Unit detectives into the theft of hundreds of DVDs and game CDs from area Redbox locations in the Middle Tennessee Area over an eight month period has led to the indictment of a Nashville couple who is suspected of reselling them.
          
Chiteka Thompson, 31, and Jonah Phillips, 27, both of S. 8th Street, are charged with one count each of felony theft.  Thompson is being held in the Metro Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.  Phillips is being held in Williamson County on an unrelated matter and will be booked on the Nashville indictment in the near future.
          

Thompson and Phillips are alleged to have collaborated in a scheme to obtain the DVDs and CDs over a period from at least November 2012 through July 2013.  After Redbox reported the thefts, Detective Kevin Allen used surveillance video from local retailers, evidence gained in the execution of search warrants, and transaction records from area pawnshops to identify Thompson and Phillips as the suspects.
          
The monetary loss to Redbox totaled nearly $38,000.
