Rutherford County Assessor of Property Rob Mitchell tells WGNS that over the next several days, property owners in Rutherford County will begin to receive their Property Assessment notices. These notices serve to inform property owners of the value placed on their property for assessment purposes. Mitchell stated in an email, "This year, as we do every four years, the notices will be sent to the last known mailing address of the property owner."
Mitchell also says the forms are easier to read, "What is new this year is we have changed the appearance of the notice to make it easier for the property owner to read and understand their property valuation." The good news... The majority of property owners will see no change or a slight decrease over the 2010 reappraisal.
