A man convicted by a Rutherford County Circuit Court Jury on two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary is demanding a new trial.

In 2009, 87-year old Cecil Storey told detectives that suspect Ronald Damon and the two others, pushed their way into their secluded Eagleville home. The trio then allegedly beat and tied-up the elderly couple, and stole their money. Sadly, 93-year old Edna Storey died of a heart attack a few months later.  

The man who is asking for a new trial, Ronald Damon, was sentenced to spend the next 41-years behind bars after this vicious crime unfolded. Damon now claims the court should have agreed to his motion for an acquittal or a new trial because he says there was a lack of evidence to support his convictions.

The Court of Criminal Appeals failed to see the case the same way that Damon saw his case. In other words, a new trial will not occur and Damon will remain behind bars for the vicious crime that unfolded in the home of an elderly couple in Eagleville during the year of 2009.

Despite the pain that Damon caused to the victims, according to court documents, he will be eligible for parole in the very near future. Information from the Department of Corrections shows that Damon will be eligible for parole in 2017.
