It's hard to believe that it was 1978 when the first TACA (Tennessee Artists Craft Association) Fair was held at Centennial Park. The thirty-sixth artisans craft fair took place this past weekend. For those who have lived in the area, attendance has become a tradition.
The event has exploded in size with juried entries from across the United States. The exhibitors have learned that music themes sell well, and as you walk down the rows of tents that are in front of the Parthenon--you'll pass people who look very familiar. This has become a pleasant weekend get away for the country music super stars.
It's hard to spot them. For example, on Saturday afternoon a woman passed with a long fringe white blouse and matching white boots made of patches of white leather going to her knees and plenty of skin showing around the leg. Would that catch your attention? That was one style of Music City fashion. But then some equally popular recording artists simply wore old jeans, a loose fitting jersey and a wide brimmed hat. They were hard to spot, as they blended-in.
