Murfreesboro lost two community legends Wednesday: Pat Farrer passed away after a battle with cancer and Matt Murfree III died while in Washington, DC.
Pat Farrer was married to Charlie Farrer, and over the years their family construction company came to the aid of many who were victims of fires, storms and disasters. The Farrer's also developed much property in the area for retail as well as self-storage outlets. She was also the retired co-owner of International Travel Agency and helped to make the travel dreams of many come true over the years.
Often friends bring food to the funeral home for the family, and Charlie requests that instead of bringing food for them to instead take it to an individual in need or organizations like Room In The Inn or Journey Home. He said, "I really think that's what Pat would have wanted."
Matt Murfree, III passed away Wednesday in Washington, DC. In 1969 he began practicing law in Murfreesboro. He and his son "Bricke" operate Murfree and Murfree, a real estate development legal service.
The arrangements for Matt Murfree are incomplete at this time.
Funeral services for Mrs. Farrer are being handled by Woodfin Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services for Patricia Thomas "Pat" Farrer will be 5:00 o'clock this coming Friday evening at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, and the visitation begins at 3:00 that afternoon.
