Noon Exchange Club in Murfreesboro helping parents and more

The Exchange Club of Noon Murfreesboro, TN was proud to present a $10,000.00 check to The Family Center during their regular weekly meeting on Thursday November 20, 2014.

Dawn Eaton, Executive Director of The Family Center was the speaker for the day presenting an update on activities at The Family Center. As well she discussed the latest horrifying statistics on child abuse and neglect in Rutherford County.

The Family Center has earned the AAA accreditation from The National Exchange Club in Toledo for its programs and management. The focus of the program is working with parents to educate and train them while their children are very young in order to prevent abuse and neglect before it happens.

An outreach of The Family Center is teaching Parenting Classes at the Rutherford County Correctional Work Center.

The Noon Murfreesboro Exchange Club, established in 1979, is a chapter of The National Exchange Club (NationalExchangeClub.org). The Club meets weekly at Five Senses on Northfield for lunch. Exchange, America's Premier Service Club, is a group of men and men working together to make our community a better place to live. This is done through four pillars: Americanism, Youth Activities, Community Service, and the national project - the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Funds raised for this donation were made through various fundraisers, but mostly from The Polar Bear Golf Tournament and "The Healing Field".

Tony Dugger, 2014-2015 President, said "It was an honor and privilege to work hard to raise funds for such a worthy cause as The Family Center. We proudly support their efforts to eliminate this disease in our county."
