Like the popular song goes, "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas". The City of Murfreesboro is placing special banners on light posts, and the lighting of the Christmas tree on the square will be Friday night, December 5th at 6:00PM.
The Yule Season is made more special with free horse and carriage rides around the downtown area on Friday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 on December 5th, 12th and 19th. This is a service of Main Street Murfreesboro/Rutherford County.
The 31st Annual Oaklands Candlelight Tour of homes will be Saturday evening, December 6th, from 4:00 to 8:00 in the evening.
Have a free ride on the Holly Trolley from 1:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon on Saturday, December 13th in the historic uptown area. Do you shopping at the local family businesses that are in this area.
The Christmas Parade is set for 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, December 14th. It begins on East Main Street at Middle Tennessee Boulevard (in front of the MTSU President's home). The parade goes down East Main, around the square, onto West Main and then onto Walnut. This year's theme is "All I Want For Christmas Is _____".
