Local man allegedly robs gas station and flees from police in minivan

Dec 04, 2014 at 08:49 pm by Bryan Barrett

A 46-year old plumber in Murfreesboro was arrested on some charges that may land him in the slammer if found guilty. Jeffery Farris was charged with "Aggravated Robbery" and "Robbery" after he was allegedly involved in the hold-up of the Campus Market on Middle Tennessee Boulevard. The incident was reported on Wednesday (Dec. 3, 2014).

According to a police arrest report, Farris fled the scene in his minivan and was later caught by police when he ran over spike strips that flattened his tires. After the tires were blown out, he ran off the road on Bradyville Pike. Once the van came to a stop, Farris was taken out of the vehicle and placed in the back seat of a patrol car.

Officers transported Farris to the police department where he confessed to the robbery on Middle Tennessee Boulevard. During the interview, the local resident even confessed to a second robbery that previously occurred on Mercury Boulevard. As a result of the man reportedly fleeing from police, he was also charged with "Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle."

Farris was booked under a $22,000 bond. He will appear in court this January.
