A lone robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash after a hold up Saturday (12/13/2014) at the Dollar General store at Leanna Road, a Rutherford County Sheriff's deputy reported.
The clerks at the store told Deputy T.J. Notgrass that a man dressed in black clothes with only his eyes showing appeared to have something in his hand that was covered by a bag.
"He was presenting it as if it were a gun," Deputy Notgrass reported.
The robber demanded the clerks open the cash register behind the counter, the deputy reported. The clerk complied with the request.
He drove away in a silver, four-door vehicle. Witnesses described the suspect as a slender black man who stood about 6-feet-2.
People who have information about the suspect's identity are asked to call Detective Kyle Norrod at 904-3037.
