Old Hospital Fading Fast!

The original structure of the old Rutherford County Hospital is almost three-quarters a memory. Only the right wing of the structure that faces Bell Street remains. The original section that was constructed in 1927 with a grant from the Commonwealth Fund of New York is being razed first.

After Ascencion Health attempted to sell the entire complex, there appeared to be no interest from outside investors. It was at that point, facing million-dollar per year maintenance fees, that officials decided to contract Nashville's Demo Plus to recycle as much of the old hospital as possible.
