One of the items that will be discussed by the Rutherford County School Board at their Thursday meeting will be whether or not to eliminate the sixth grade at Homer Pittard Campus School. Schools spokesman James Evans told Channel 4 News...

At the county's only remaining K-6 school, there were only 20 kids in the sixth grade last year. While it's not known what the enrollment will be this year until the new school session starts, numbers are still expected to be low. The school board will be discussing possible changes this week during workshop sessions and they could vote on Thursday to change Campus School to K-through-5. Any changes would not take place this coming year, but would in the 2012-2013 school year.
