17-Year Old Murdered Friday Night At Car Wash

A 17-year old was shot in his car at a carwash near Wal Mart on Rutherford Boulevard. Around 8:30 Friday night (7/22/11), Kevin Allen Knotts was rushed to the ER at Middle Tennessee Medical Center where he was pronouced deceased around 9:00 o'clock. Reports indicate he was shot at least once in his upper body. 

Owners of National Carwash Express, next to Taco Bell, have given officials the surveillance video tape in hopes that it shows what happened. Police are also looking for witnesses who may have seen anything happening Friday night in the last stall of the self-service car wash.

Kevin Knotts is a native of Ohio, but has lived in Murfreesboro with his parents for the past four years. 

Knott's is Murfreesboro's second homicide of 2011. The first was Lady Raider Basketball guard Tina Stewart. As you recall, she was found March 2nd stabbed in her Raiders Crossing apartment and was rushed to MTMC where she died later that evening.
