Ramble With Ram...Road Reports Through march 21st

Spring is in the air, in fact it officially arrives Friday. Murfreesboro Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran notes that construction projects will gear-up and that increases your chance of encountering a "road challenge". Here are Ram's predictions now through March 21st.

City Construction Projects

Joe B Jackson Pkwy Construction Project (I-24 and S Church Street)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: Incidental work continues along Joe B Jackson Pkwy and along S Church Street. There will be partial lane closures and minor traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Veterans Pkwy aka Kimbro Road Widening Project (Barfield Road to Saint Andrews Drive)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 6:30 am to 4:30 pm: Box culvert and storm drain work continues on Veterans Pkwy. There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions (trucks entering and exiting the job site). Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for underground utility crossing. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Broadmor Blvd is closed to traffic at Memorial Blvd for utility crossing construction work. Broadmor Blvd can still be accessed from NW Broad Street. W Lytle Street is also closed to traffic at NW Broad Street for construction work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

New Walmart Project (S Church Street at Joe B Jackson Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic signal work continues at S Church Street and Tiger Hill. There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions for slope and median grading work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

TDOT Intersection Improvements on Old Fort Pkwy at Market Place

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be lane closures on Old Fort Pkwy for median and turn lane modification work, grinding, removal and realignment of pavement markings. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Driveway Entrance Work (Memorial Blvd at Osborne Lane)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday & Tuesday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm: Construction crews will be installing new driveway entrances. There will be partial lane closures and minor traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Singer Road CSX Track Work (just west of NW Broad Street)

Expected Road Closures: Tuesday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm: The contractor for CSX will be doing track work on Singer Road just west of NW Broad Street. Singer Road will be closed to through traffic. Access to local residents and businesses on Singer Road will be from Florence Road. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

E Burton Street Tree Removal Work (between Academy Street and Maney Avenue )

Expected Road Closures: Thursday, February 19, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm: City Urban Environmental Departmental crews will be removing a tree on E Burton Street between Academy Street and Maney Ave. E Burton Street between Academy Street and Maney Ave will be closed to through traffic. Local residents on E Burton Street will have access at all times. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Mercury Blvd Tree Removal Work (between Bilbro Ave and SE Broad Street)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm: Contractor for Murfreesboro Electrical Departmental will betrimming tree branches on the north side of Mercury Blvd between Bilbro Ave and SE Broad Street. Westbound lanes on Mercury Blvd will be reduced to one lane. Eastbound traffic will not be affected. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
