Man wanted on charges for allegedly hitting 10-year old with cattle stick

Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a Smith County father accused of abusing his daughter.

At the request of 15th District Attorney General Tom Thompson and with his office's assistance, TBI Special Agents began investigating 33-year-old Joe F. Green, Jr. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that on Saturday, April 4th, Green struck his 10-year-old daughter multiple times with a cattle stick while staying with her at his parents' residence in Pleasant Shade.

This afternoon, Agents arrested the Carthage man and charged him with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse. Green was subsequently booked into the Smith County Jail on $15,000 bond.
