Do you know a stroke survivor who likes creating art? Perhaps it's a friend, a family member - or even you?
Now, there's a special art show created just for you.
The American Heart Association is seeking donations of art created by stroke survivors, to display at the upcoming Strokes for Stroke art show in Nashville in mid-May (American Stroke Month). The art show will bring attention to the 795,000 Americans who have a stroke each year - but in a creative, positive way.
If you're a stroke survivor, the show wants to feature your painting, drawing, sculpting, pottery, photography, fabric art, jewelry or other forms of visual art. All ages and all levels of proficiency are welcome.
To donate your art to Strokes for Stroke, please submit the following:
โข Display-ready artwork, delivered to the American Heart Association at 1818 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
โข Artist name and photo, contact info., town of residence, the year the stroke occurred if the artist is willing to share, and a quote on why the survivor enjoys creating art. Please deliver information with the artwork or send to patty.clements@heart.org.
Deadline for submission: April 30, 2015.
Donations of art will be used to raise funds for the mission of the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association, to fight heart disease and stroke.
