A Murfreesboro man reported to police that he was the victim of an attempted rape on Wednesday. Police met with the 22-year old victim who said, "[The suspect] put a date rape drug in his drink and then later tried to have intercourse with him without his consent." The victim was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital after filing the report with the MPD.

The case has been turned over to detectives. The suspect in the case is a 30-year old acquaintance of the victim. At this point, charges have not been filed.
