A man who was pursued by Smyrna Police this past April will soon be in court to face a myriad of charges.

Smyrna Police Sgt. Bobby Gibson told News Radio WGNS that police originally made contact with the driver of a silver Nissan Maxima, the man was asked to step out of the vehicle...

Sgt. Gibson told WGNS:

"After making contact with the driver, Ricky A. Bigsby, the officer determined Bigsby did not have a license and prepared to place Bigsby in custody. Bigsby jerked away from the officer, re-entered his vehicle and sped away on Lee Victory Pkwy, toward I-24."

The officer attempted to catch up to the evading vehicle and located it on One Mile Lane at Peebles Drive. The vehicle had crashed in a ditch and the driver fled on foot.

39-Year old Bigsby was eventually arrested for:

  • Resisting Arrest
  • Evading Arrest
  • Driving on a Revoked License
  • Simple Possession of Marijuana
  • Felony Possession of Cocaine for Resale
  • Possession of a Weapon by a Felon
  • Sale of Cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school zone
  • Attempted Sale of Cocaine

Bigsby is due in court to file a plea on August 25, 2015.
