Several Gallatin football players and two Smyrna players have been suspended or dismissed after a fight broke out during a scrimmage. The Gallatin News Examiner reports 12 football players have been suspended and one dismissed from the team after a fight Tuesday. The suspended players will miss a jamboree and the first two weeks of the regular season. The DNJ reports two Smyrna players have been suspended for the season opener Friday night with BGA. Gallatin High School principal Ron Becker says he watched the video with coach Robert Lassiter and determined their players acted inappropriately after a personal foul on Smyrna. During the fray, Smyrna head coach Matt Williams got caught up in the incident trying to break it up and was on the ground for several minutes.
