A robbery that unfolded in the Smyrna Home Depot parking lot quickly ended with an arrest, according to Smyrna Police Sgt. Bobby Gibson:
"On August 27, 2015, De Erius Parks, accompanied by Gabrielle Spencer, used a handgun to rob a man while the man was pumping gas at the Home Depot in Smyrna. After taking the man's wallet, cash, cell phone, Mac Book, Samsung tablet and backpack containing other computer equipment, Parks and Spencer fled the scene in their vehicle.
Within a couple hours of the robbery, Smyrna Police, with assistance from Murfreesboro Police, located the suspects at a pawn shop in Murfreesboro. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and both are currently being held at the Rutherford County Jail on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Theft Over $1000.
During the course of the investigation, numerous items were located in the suspects' vehicle. We believe these items to be stolen from auto burglaries that occurred in Lebanon and Wilson County. Charges for theft from those jurisdictions are pending.
The Smyrna Police Department wishes to thank Murfreesboro Police for assisting us in locating and apprehending these robbery suspects."
