Former Football Player Dave Thomas: 5-year probation, $10K fine!

A former high school football player plead no contest to 2 felony counts of assault in connection with injuries to an infant child.  On Friday (8/12/11) Dave Thomas appeared before Rutherford County Court Judge David Bragg who placed him on 5-years probation and issued a fine of $10,000 for the first count. The crime is reported to have occurred in June, 2009. 

Judge Bragg ruled if Thomas successfully completes the first 5-year probation period, that he would be eligible to apply for an equal judicial diversion period.

Dave Thomas, who was the Class 5A Mr. Football back, led the Riverdale offense in 2004.  Later he was a wide receiver at the University of Memphis for a short period of time.
