Shortly after lunch on Friday (8/12/2011) a suspicious white powdery substance was discovered in an envelope that was left at the Rutherford County Election Commission. Emergency units quickly evacuated 1 Public Square South and cordoned off the structure while the Murfreesboro Fire Department's hazmat team checked the entire building. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that there was no danger.
