The Murfreesboro Salvation Army is organizing its 4th Annual Red Kettle Craft Fair for September 24th, but entry applications must be in by September 1st. Katie Peachey told WGNS News that this event will be held rain or shine, and it's in front of the Army's complex on the New Salem Highway at West Main Street.
She explained that the Salvation Army operates a year-round homeless shelter for both single men and families. The shelter can accommodate up to 34 individuals. This program is structured to provide food and shelter to single men and families while guiding them to resources that will help them to re-establish themselves within the community.
The Craft Fair helps the local Salvation Army to have sheltered 1,979 persons last year and served 21,901 meals. For more information, call the Salvation Army at 615-895-7071.
