Citizens are invited to remember the victims of the 9-11 terrorists' attacks during a solemn ceremony at the 9-11 Memorial at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.
The event will start at 5 p.m. at the Sheriff's Office at 940 New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro. It is expected to last about 30 minutes.
Keynote speaker will be U.S. Navy Commander Todd Sullivan, the executive officer of the Navy Recruiting District in Nashville.
Sheriff Robert Arnold said he hopes citizens will take a few moments to remember those emergency responders who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.
"We want to remember the victims, including citizens and responding emergency workers, who were killed Sept. 11, 2001," Sheriff Arnold said. "We also want to remember the military that responded and protected our country since then."
