35-Feet of copper wire at a Murfreesboro Electric substation was stolen over the past four days. Reports on file with the Murfreesboro Police Department indicate the wire was on a poll and that whoever stole it had knowledge of how to steal it without being electrocuted. In other words, the person who stole the wire, knew what they were doing. The subject who stole the wire gained access into the substation area by cutting a hole in the fence that surrounds the transformers. 100-Feet of copper wire used to ground a second substation on Dill Lane was also taken in recent days. The person who stole wire from the Dill Lane address also gained access into the substation by cutting a hole in the side of the fence. So far, no one has been caught.
