The Tennessee Supreme Court has officially denied an appeal case that was recently heard. The case revolved around LaVergne Police making a drug arrest outside their jurisdiction, according to court documents.

Defendant Roy Allen Smith was previously convicted by a jury after a large number of Lortab prescription pain killers were found behind his trailer. His attorney, Joe Brandon Jr, argued the case in court...

Despite the argument about LaVergne Police being out of their jurisdiction and the property belonging to someone else, the courts confirmed the original conviction of Smith for possessing over 700 Lortab painkillers.

The defendant received an effective twelve-year sentence, which was ordered to be served consecutively to the sentences of six prior convictions for which the defendant had been on probation for at the time that the additional offenses were committed.
