There has been a lot of talk about the privatized probation system used in Rutherford County in recent months. Some say the system is not working as it should, even suggesting that it is a racket of sorts for those who are convicted of misdemeanor crimes in our community. The talks have grown after a federal lawsuit was filed against Rutherford County and Providence Community Corrections. The private probation company manages an office at 309 West Main Street in Murfreesboro.
