Oaklands Historic House Museum Is Spooky At Night

Oct 24, 2015 at 09:41 pm by Bryan Barrett

A steady flow of fright seeking Civil War history buffs roamed the halls of Oaklands Historic House Museum over the weekend.

Murfreesboro's most mysterious mansion had aberrations and orbs bouncing across the field surrounding the springs. A misty moon shinned eerie shadows across the former plantation grounds.

Additional activities at Oaklands include the Christmas Gala in Maney Hall starting at 6:00 on Friday evening of December 4th.

The celebration of the home's 200th anniversary continues with the 32nd Annual Candlelight Tour of home from 4:00 to 8:00PM on Saturday evening, December 5th.

After the Civil War, the Maney family started to sell some land in their 1,500 acre plantation. That included the tree-lined carriage path to the mansion. That straight road is now North Maney Avenue, and is described by many as being Murfreesboro's first subdivision.
