Possible Forged Prescription Leads To Apprehension

Around 2:30 Thursday afternoon (11/5/2015), while conducting a drug investigation, a Murfreesboro Police Department vice officer confronted a male subject who was suspected of attempting to pass a forged prescription at Walgreens at Mercury and Middle Tennessee Boulevard.

The suspect attempted to leave the parking lot at Walgreens and struck a parked car, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

NewsRadio WGNS has learned that the suspect then ran from the scene. Several officers pursued, and the foot chase lasting several blocks.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and vice unit detectives are interviewing the suspect.

Felony drug and evading charges are pending. The suspect's name will be released once he is charged at the conclusion of the interview.
