The Rutherford County Historical Society's Annual Banquet was a "wake-up call" for those who are trying to hood-wink some into changing history and being "politically correct".

Her talk included reading names of African-American males who not only fought to preserve the South, but afterwards they applied for their pension as Confederate soldiers.
She said, "Nobody made them fight, they believed in our Southern Heritage, just as I do. And for those who try to change history, they need to study the facts, instead of saying our African-American forefathers were idiots. That's basically what you're saying when you try to cover-up and change history."
